The Ollin Tuner (“the App”) is developed and operated by The Peninsular Company, LLC, a Michigan limited liability company based in Detroit (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what data the App handles, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It describes version 1.2 and later; differences in earlier versions are noted where they apply.
The Short Version
- No account, no login, and we never ask for your name, email, or contacts.
- Your question is sent to an AI service (Groq) to generate a reading. We don’t store it.
- We count anonymous app events (like “a reading was revealed”) with TelemetryDeck. These never include your questions or readings.
- Free users see ads from Google AdMob, served differently depending on age. Ads are only personalized for adults who allow it.
- Buying Eternal Frequency removes ads and the data collection that comes with them.
Your Questions and Readings (Groq)
When you ask for an AI reading, the text of your question is sent to Groq, Inc. to generate a response:
- We do not store, log, or retain your questions or the readings generated from them.
- Your questions are not associated with any identifier by us.
- The App asks for your consent before sending anything to Groq for the first time.
Groq may process and temporarily store question text under its own policies — see Groq’s Privacy Policy. Please don’t include sensitive personal information (names, addresses, financial or medical details) in your questions.
The Voice of Ollin
From version 1.2, readings are spoken using Apple’s built-in speech on your device. No text or audio is sent anywhere for the voice.
Versions 1.1 and earlier sent the text of each reading to ElevenLabs to generate the voice (ElevenLabs’ Privacy Policy). Updating the App ends this.
Your Birth Year
The App asks once for your birth year. It is used only on your device to decide how ads are served (see below), is stored in the iOS Keychain, and is never sent to us or to advertisers.
Anonymous Analytics (TelemetryDeck)
We use TelemetryDeck to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. The App sends coarse events such as a reading being revealed, the tutorial being closed, the purchase screen being shown, or a purchase completing (including its price and currency). Each event carries a randomly generated, hashed identifier and basic technical details (app version, iOS version, device type, region).
- Events never contain your questions, readings, secret answers, or exact age.
- Analytics data is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or advertising.

Advertising (Google AdMob)
Free users see banner, full-screen, and optional rewarded ads from Google AdMob. All ads are limited to content suitable for all ages. How ads are requested depends on the birth year you enter:

Depending on your age and choices, AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the IDFA, only if you allow tracking), IP address and approximate location, ad interaction data, and device and diagnostic information. This data is collected directly by Google and is not accessible to us. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from partner apps.
The App also includes Apple’s SKAdNetwork identifiers, which let ad networks measure campaigns without revealing who you are.
Versions 1.1 and earlier requested all ads as child-directed and did not show a consent form or tracking request.
In-App Purchases (Apple StoreKit)
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment information or Apple ID. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Reading counts and your birth year (iOS Keychain)
- Daily and bonus transmission counts, purchase status, tutorial progress, and your AI consent choice (UserDefaults)
This data stays on your device and is not accessible to us. Keychain items may persist after deleting the App.
Children’s Privacy
The App is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Users who indicate they are under 13 receive only child-directed ads and are never asked for tracking permission. Anonymous analytics events do not identify anyone.
Data Retention
We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Anonymous analytics are retained by TelemetryDeck in aggregate form. Local data is removed by deleting the App (Keychain items may remain until cleared).
Your Choices
- Change your ad consent choices anytime under Settings → Privacy Choices in the App (shown where required).
- Turn tracking off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Manage Google ad preferences at Google’s Ad Settings.
- Purchase Eternal Frequency to remove ads and the associated data collection.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
